This useful publication is intended for everyone entering Serbia’s music sector – young and emerging musicians, producers, organizers, sound engineers, journalists, promoters, and other professionals.
Within the framework of the project Play It! – Strengthening Cooperation in the Music Industry to Make a Change, a new brochure titled “Find Your Path” has been published. It is designed for all those entering Serbia’s music sector – young and emerging musicians, producers, organizers, sound engineers, journalists, promoters, and other professionals. The brochure is conceived as a practical guide through the first steps on the scene and provides clear, accessible information on how the music industry functions: from developing an artist identity, rehearsals, and first performances, through recording and production, to copyright and performers’ rights, promotion, finance, project development, and international cooperation. Special emphasis is placed on networking, knowledge exchange, and building a more sustainable and fair music scene.
The publication does not promise “overnight success,” but instead offers realistic advice, experiences, and tools that help young professionals avoid common mistakes, become better informed, and plan their professional development with greater confidence. The goal is to make Serbia’s music scene more visible, interconnected, inclusive, and accessible to all.
The brochure has been available free of charge online since mid-February via the Play It! platform.

The project “Zasviraj! / Play It! – Strengthening Cooperation for Change in the Music Industry” is implemented by the World Music Association of Serbia in partnership with the Music Information Centre of Serbia (MICS) and the Ring Ring association, with the support of the UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). The project has been developed in line with the principles and objectives of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Its goal is to strengthen cooperation and foster the strategic development of the music industry by connecting musicians, producers, sound engineers, publishers, concert and festival organizers, as well as decision-makers.
