STRENTHENING COOPERATION IN MUSIC INDUSTRY

Play It! is a project and an online platform dedicated to strengthening cooperation within Serbia’s music industry. Emerging from the real needs of the scene, Play It! connects emerging and established musicians with producers, organizers, media, and institutions, providing space for visibility, knowledge exchange, and professional development. The project includes research, educational activities, and workshops, with a special focus on inclusivity and “behind-the-scenes” professions. Play It! aims to contribute to building a more connected, fair, and sustainable music community in Serbia.

WHAT IS PLAY IT!?

Play It! is a shared online platform and support project for the music industry in Serbia, designed to connect musicians, producers, organizers, institutions, and audiences, with a special focus on young and emerging stakeholders.

WHY PLAY IT!?

The project emerged from a genuine need within the scene to bring together information, opportunities, and knowledge in one place and make them accessible to everyone who wants to pursue a professional career in music in Serbia.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Play It! is intended for young and emerging musicians, bands, producers, sound engineers, organizers, promoters, as well as audiences and institutions that wish to connect with the contemporary music scene.

ONLINE PLATFORM

At the core of the project is the development of an online platform that will enable the presentation of music sector stakeholders, networking, information exchange, and the publication of open calls, events, and resources relevant to the music industry.

VISIBILITY AND PRESENTATION

The platform enables musicians and professionals to present their work through profiles, portfolios, and content, increasing visibility and facilitating access to collaborations and opportunities.

EDUCATION AND WORKSHOPS

Play It! includes educational activities, workshops, and

masterclasses that provide young professionals with practical knowledge about the music industry — from performance and production to promotion and technical support.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES SUPPORT

Special attention is given to behind-the-scenes professions: sound engineers, stage managers, producers, promoters, and technical production teams, as key yet often invisible contributors.

INCLUSIVITY AND ACCESSIBILITY

The project promotes an inclusive music scene, with a special focus on young people, women, persons with disabilities, and minority communities, creating equal opportunities for all.

CONNECTING THE SCENE

Play It! encourages cooperation between different segments of the music sector — artists, organizers, media, and institutions — in order to develop the scene as a connected and sustainable community.

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

The project includes research, surveys, and analyses of the music scene in Serbia in order to better understand stakeholders’ needs and design activities based on real data.

INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT

Play It! connects the local scene with international practices and networks, opening space for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and greater international visibility for Serbian music.

A GROWING COMMUNITY

Play It! is evolving together with the community. The platform and its activities will be continuously improved through feedback, ideas, and the active participation of everyone who wants to contribute to the scene.
